1) Measure Your Kitchen
Measuring is one of the most important steps to creating a successful room design. To avoid problems down
the road, it’s important that you take accurate measurements at the start. Follow these guidelines to ensure
your d-i-y cabinet project gets off to a successful start. Please remember to take your time and record measurements properly.
Measure everything twice.
- Gather a tape measure and a pencil and paper to record measurements.
- Draw a sketch of the entire room on a piece of paper. Start from a corner and work clockwise until you return to starting point.
- Measure total width of windows and doors including casing. *NOTE: Mark any special height windows.
- Make sure to indicate all OUTLETS, SWITCHES, COLD AIR RETURNS, & AIR CONDITIONING VENTS, PHONE JACKS, ETC
- Measure everything in inches, and round each measurement to the nearest 1/8?
